Bagels Bagels

Description: Traditional and authentic, these bagels are boiled before they are baked giving them their distinctive chewiness and texture. The first bagels were made by the Jewish community in Poland about 400 years ago, and at one time bagels were given to women as a traditional gift after child-birth. Last century Jewish settlers brought bagels to the United States. Recipes and methods have been perfected to the way bagels have been made ever since. Brooklyn baked NZ's first bagel in 1980 and has since developed a number of interesting flavours and size variations.

Uses: Nice fresh as is; after 24 hours best toasted with cream cheese or filled with your favourite foods. Very versatile.

Variations: Plain, sesame seed, poppy seed, rye, cheese, everything. Also available in mini sizes

Shelf Life: 3 days or can be frozen
